42-Piece Wood Burning Pyrography Kit – Beginner to Pro

I love crafting, and wanted a wood burner that was inexpensive, but better than what you can buy at a local craft store. This was perfect for me. It’s easy to use, came with a lot of tips and little extras, and not overpriced. I did research brands that are recommended by the pros, but decided to give this one a try. It warms up quickly, and so far I haven’t noticed any issues. I have used most of the tips, and they all work great. Any issues I thought I had with hot spots were actually due to the grain in the wood. The glove is useless for me because I have extremely small hands, and while the tool gets pretty hot, it isn’t painful unless you slip and hold it in a certain spot. I definitely recommend this for anyone interested in learning wood burning, or wanting a tool that does more than one task.

Great kit for a beginner like me. I used an old wood burner once or twice, but couldn't get into it due to the weight and size being too painful for my hands to use for more than a minute or two, since I have arthritis. This tool is much lighter and slimmer, allowing me much more control and requiring almost no pressure to get the effects I need. Love the adjustable temperature and all the options to really get a feel for what works best for me.The only downside I see so far is the construction materials of the tool itself. It has performed great for me so far and nothing feels loose, however the machine does feel cheaply made so I don't expect it to be a forever purchase. Still a great price for a beginner's kit with all the options.

I just got this yesterday and haven't used it yet, a lot smaller than many of the soldering irons but hopefully it'll work as advertised.

Works great! Also works for soldering wires!

I made this purchase and I'm glad I did even though I still don't know how to use it nor have I tried but I have it if and when I need it how's everything you need and it comes in a beautiful wooden box very nice the value for the money is spectacular

This wood burning kit comes with so many attachments that any craft project is doable! The tips are easy to change and work flawlessly. I also love how easy it is to draw while burning into my projects compared to some bulkier products. Highly rated!

Good product for the application

Bought this for my daughter for her birthday to use on a wood shop project she loves it and I don't mind the smell of burnt wood in the house almost everyday for the last 2 months.

I had bought a book bag style pocketbook it was leather well i wanted to personalze it with my name so i got brave ordered some stencils n this wood burning kit n i burnt my name on my pocketbook n didnt stop there i added two small butterflies n a swirly design i get so many complements n im asked where i got it from n i tell them i did it myself with a wood n leather burning kit n people just love the look on my leather pocketbook oh ya i also added a double heart down at the very bottom it was easy to use n worked very fast im now ready for other projects

For what you get at the price it’s a great beginner kit. This is more for someone who is interested in wood burning/pyrography and is just dabbling without a lot of big projects. I had never done this kind of project before but I planned to make 6 different cutting board designs for Christmas. Let’s just say I’ve only made 3 and the tool is already crapping out on me. Maybe I have a really hard wood and have to push kinda hard but the tips have started to bend.Some things that annoy me is that the base and the tips are just screwed on by hand and start to loosen as you use them. You are constantly having to plug and unplug the tool because you can’t touch it without burning yourself. Same goes for changing any tip, you have to unplug and wait for it to cool down. The gloves they provide don’t do a thing for heat protection. The tool also gets hot and you can’t hold it at the black rubber piece you have to hold it further down near the orange handle. Also, there isn’t a sturdy stand to set the tool down on so it rolls around and has the potential to burn other objects or yourself. There is an inner tip that you use to screw all the little tips into and that tip had ended up melting to the base so now I can’t change it out for a new one and it has gotten crooked, making it harder to burn designs.All in all…it’s a good little kit for light handwork and beginners but for the projects I had in mind I probably would have done better with something more heavy duty or professional. Hopefully it lasts me through 3 more cutting boards.

I really wanted to like this product, it had so many tips, temp control, the whole kit and caboodle; it why I bought it. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to use it since it arrived, all I did was open the package to see it had arrived and set it in my room to gather dust until I had time to try it. I didn't check the product until today so I have sadly missed the return window, so make sure you check out the entire product before waiting to use cause now I'm out $$. I have included a video of my issues with this product. I am unsure if this is a one off or a product wide issue.I started by figuring out how to swap tips out, and it seems that of the two connector pieces one is smaller than the other, as I show in a video. It is impossible to know which one is the loose one until you get it all put back together; not only is the outter casing loose but the tip is wobbly too, even when fully screwed in. This feels like a quality control as well as a safety concern as this will prevent users from having steady lines and could cause slippage near the hot tip.After that issue made itself apparent to me I checked the rest of the wood burner itself and found that one of the prongs for the wall outlet were strongly bent inward. As a result I doubt I will be using this product at all. Because it is so strongly out of alignment I worry that plugging it in may cause it to short out/over heat; if it even turns on at all.

As the title states, this thing is garbage. First off, the wiring broke as soon as I took it out of the case (literally snapped). Second, none of the tips fit. The instructions (if that's what you can call them) offer no assistance at all. Avoid this steaming hot pile of crap and buy something else.

Nice assortment. Handy to use. This kit contains 52 wood burning tips and then other tips (soldering etc.). One thing that would have been nice for beginners like me would have been to have a list of the tips with tip type name, picture of tip, and picture of tip burn effect (what does it look like). That would be extremely helpful. So instead as a first project and good learning tool, I have taken a thin piece of wood board, used the tool to make a table grid, then in each row - glued printed picture of the tip, looked up tips for names , and used the tip to burn the effect. Been fun and still in progress (received kit a week ago) but would have preferred list already done so I could use my time better. Also make the instructions bigger - those included were so teeny tiny I had to break out a magnifying glass to read.
