Heavy Duty Military Grappling Hook For Climbing

It's small, but that's what I wanted. It can easily work as a grappling hook or kayak anchor. It functions smoothly and exactly as advertised. I bought mine for walking or camping with my dog in the woods... holding the hook I can drop it if I need to while not losing my pup; and also I can let my dog drag it around the camp site on a 25' length of rope without worrying about her getting far if she chases something into the woods. It's additionally my backup kayak anchor. No complaints.

Amazing quality! Wasnt sure what to expect, and rather expected a decent rope, but this is the nicest rope I've owned. Will be using it with my grappling hook on my upcoming trip to Costa Rica.I highly recommend

I went with this one because it said it could not only be used as a boat line but also climbing. The rope is good quality and the hook dug in nicely. Worth the extra cost.

I bought this to hopefully rescue my husband's kayak seat I lost in a pond. High hopes, but unfortunately,y the seat is still underwater. Outside of that its a nice size and good weight. We will definitely find more uses for it. I can see the future possibilities.

Used this to pull a giant tree branch down before it fell on the house and I got to say I'm impressed. After it came down with a thud and the hook was back in my hand I felt my voice drop a couple octaves. I know how to save Gotham from criminals now.

It's sharp/ it grabs and pulls great! This product is a serious piece of equipment! Rope is tough!

Love this thing. I'm way too FAT for climbing. I purchased this for working around the yard dragging brush out of my pond or other places in the yard.Feels strong and sure. Heavy duty enough for me since I was once too strong for my own good. Threaded to lock tangs in for storage or out for throwing.

I actually purchased this grappling hook to drag debris out of drainage ditch next to a trail that I help maintain. It worked great, allowing us to clear the ditch without having to wait until the rain stopped & the ditch was dry.

A great thing to pull trees (widow makers) down before they hurt someone.

Saved my life. I was on a remote island in the Philippines, and I was on a huge cliff, climbing up,t of course. I had this grapple on me and I slipped but in a split second I trew the grapple and it catches me thank the lord above for this grapple I would have been 6 feet under without it also it was better strength then my steel joints! Over all its a great product!

Loved the item, but delivery was later than I expected. I had planned on using it for the weekend to go climbing with my children, and it said it was going to be delivered Saturday, but didn't receive it till Sunday evening

Florida has deep sink holes that occur unexpectedly. The only way to climb out is with a grappling hook and a static rope. This grappling hook is very well made of stainless steel and perfect for your every day carry (EDC).

I bought this as a fun gift for my grown son. What guy doesn't want a grappling hook? The hook is on the smaller side, but it's well-made and seems quite strong. The hooks can be collapsed against the stem, but not by accident. They lock solidly into the open position. Can I scale tall buildings like Batman? Not sure, but the 10 mm rope does seem to be of decent quality, which I think sets this one apart from some of the other options I've seen.

It locks (blades closed) for storage and locks (blades open) for use. Rope that comes with seems to be plenty strong and resistant to wear and fraying. The carabiners seem stout enough. The stainless steel could be prone to galling if left outdoors or put up wet but I used some T-9 oil on the sliding and moving parts and wiped it down before use. I don't expect functional issues. BTW use some good work gloves while using; the hooks have sharp teeth.I bought it mainly to safely pull down broken branches from some trees damaged in recent storm. I really didn't want to mow under the trees wih dead branches hanging over me. I'm sure it would be great for climbing but... It would also be good for dragging off tree stumps once loosened. Likely this tool will be passed from me to son to grandson...

this is an excellent grappling hook....... sturdy, easy to use, and fairly light weight, for its strength. I was able to hook it on fairly high tree limbs (10-12 feet high) with relative ease. getting up is another thing, you need pretty decent core strength if you're going hand over hand, and you need a pretty thick rope, which ill talk about in a minute. Hooks really nicely on stuff, the shape allows it to grab onto ledges and tree limbs with ease. throwing it is a little difficult, but with practice I think you could be good at it.I don't personally like the way it unfolds; you have to hold it with the heavy end pointed towards the ground if you want to unfold it quickly, and even then the rope gets in the way. holding it heavy end up makes it a bit less tricky, but then the hooks try to fold downward.The hole for the rope... is honestly a bit small. A bigger rope is easier to climb in my experience, which means that this thing could benefit from a bigger hole. it still works, just make sure to buy a rope that fits in the hole, and make sure its a good size. I used 750 paracord and two random lengths of rope I got from Walmart, and it works fine.the hook has held my weight multiple times without issue, and I weigh 120 pounds. I've swung from it, I've dropped it.... this things legit.10 out of 10 would recommend, just work on your grip strength.

I bought this and I have no idea why. What is the point of this thing and what do I even do with it? I could imagine rappelling down a cliff or something, but climbing a rope takes a lot of upper body strength.I thought I was going to swing it up and around a tree branch and climb up a rope into a tree.

Phenomenal !totally worth the moneyIve bout many hooks from back of the Ninja supply magazines do professional.This is solid construction, can be used with only one or two hooks deployed to assist as climbing hooks in ice and snow, or hook only two well rappelling so you can relieve tension and pull and possibly recover hook back well going down.Fast deploy an several seconds to fold backup.Im a big guy an it holds my 290lbs no problem.

I haven't used it yet for the purpose I got it for, but its so sturdy and well made. I'm happy ... although I wish it wasn't that expensive. I feel like Batman just by holding it ;) . I guess not many people really "need" this but ... I don't regret the purchase. It's awesome! By the way, its heavy and like the size of 2 soda cans (one on top of the other). I thought it was made in the US but its made in China... :( but still, you can tell it is well made... or that is how it feels at least. Mine doesn't have any defects.I'll update the review if it brakes ... but it doesn't look like it will happen.I'll put it to the test 100% in about a week!:)

This hook may seem like a joke at first glance........but it is far from a laughing matter. Hooks like these were first introduced to me nearly 2 decades ago, and the truly have a ton of uses. This is one of the highest quality hooks I have seen! It's stupid strong and bites down like a gator! I have used this hook for climbing trees and rocks, repelling from high places.......lots of things. .....but this hook shows its quality best when used for grabbing and balancing. Being 80 feet up in a tree on a free rope with a chainsaw is scary enough......but then you start to spin a bit and it gets damn nightmarish! Not with this guy. Toss it out to a branch, tighten down and boom! No more spin. And hell, it even allows for more pressure when making the cut you went up to make in the first place! The only downside is that in order to retrieve a hook like this, you need to get to where the hook is. Worth it though. I'd trust it with my life......and I have.
